Lauded for his commitment to representation in fiction and his honest approach to writing, Walter Mosley has garnered critical acclaim as a fiction writer. His first novel, Devil in a Blue Dress, was adapted into a 1995 film starring Denzel Washington, and Mosley has gone on to publish more than 59 subsequent books.

Walter has been inducted into the New York State Writers Hall of Fame and named a Grand Master by the Mystery Writers of America. With dynamic Black protagonists and explorations of cultural boundaries, he has used his writing to illuminate racial issues.
